Do you want a great smile but don’t want to deal with all the metal? Invisalign clear removable braces may be what you need to finally have the smile you’ve always wanted. Besides a beautiful smile, research has shown that evenly spaced teeth can lead to healthier gums. When your teeth are straight they work in harmony with your gum tissue, making brushing and flossing much easier and more effective. Your Knoxville dentist, Dr. Jim Erpenbach, will tell you more about Invisalign.
What Is Invisalign?
Invisalign braces are a series of custom-made plastic aligners that shift your teeth into place. Each set of aligners are changed every two weeks so teeth gradually move according to your specifically designed plan. Invisalign braces fix a variety of dental problems such as crossbites, overly crowded teeth, improperly spaced teeth, underbites, and overbites. Invisalign aligners are worn over your teeth 20 to 22 hours per day. You can remove the aligners when eating, brushing, and flossing.  These clear braces are comfortable and nearly invisible, allowing adults to keep a professional appearance.
Living With Invisalign
In order to get started with Invisalign, you will need to schedule an initial consultation with your Knoxville dentist. Dr. Erpenbach will examine your teeth and map out a plan that will specifically work for your dental challenges. After the plastic aligners have been fabricated and you have begun your treatment, you will continue to schedule appointments every six weeks to check your progress.
